3 Ways to Use Honey Sticks in Your Beauty Routine

Did you know honey sticks can be made into nourishing homemade beauty products? That’s right, honey is chock full of beneficial properties that can help improve the appearance of your skin and hair. What’s even better is that honey is all natural and gentle so you don’t have to worry that you’re using harmful chemicals or artificial products. The next time you’re looking to have an at home spa day, try incorporating honey and watch the magic happen!

Why honey is such a powerful beauty tool Honey is an incredibly beneficial addition to any beauty regimen. To start off, it’s deeply moisturizing, making it a great natural alternative to achieve supple and soft skin. Additionally, honey has antibacterial, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory properties. This means honey is a powerful treatment for controlling acne and oil. As far as using it on your hair goes, since honey is so hydrating, it can help strengthen your strands, lock in moisture, and brighten their natural shine. So, the next time you’re wondering how to use a honey stick you have in your pantry, try adding it to your beauty routine! Don’t know where to start? Read below for some simple diy recipes that feature honey and other natural ingredients you can find in your kitchen.

Turmeric, honey, and yogurt face mask This mask is well suited for most skin types, especially if you’re looking for skin that’s glowing, hydrated, smooth, even in tone, and acne free. Even though this mask only calls for three ingredients, it sure does pack a punch. Besides the honey, you’ll also need turmeric, which is an amazing acne buster and skin brightener, and yogurt, which helps to reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles.

Interested in trying it for yourself? You’ll need 1 tbsp honey, 1 tsp turmeric, and 1 tsp yogurt. Mix these ingredients together until a paste forms. Then, apply it to your face and wait for the mask to dry. After about 20 minutes, rinse the mask off with warm water and pat dry. Finish off with your regular skin care routine. For best results, do this mask once a week. And remember- turmeric stains are stubborn, so try to stick to only doing this mask before bed and wearing clothes you don't mind staining.

Honey, lemon, and sugar exfoliating scrub This homemade exfoliator is a great addition to your shower routine because it’s gentle and only uses natural ingredients like honey, lemon, and sugar. Of course, honey is added to moisturize and fight body acne, while the lemon cleanses the skin and removes dirt from pores via its astringent qualities, and the sugar acts like a physical exfoliant to buff off dead skin cells and dirt. Overall, this scrub leaves you with skin that is clean, moisturized, and smooth to the touch.

To make this body scrub for yourself, just mix together 1 cup of sugar, 1 whole lemon, and ⅓ cup of honey or some honey sticks. Use this scrub in the shower the next time you feel like you need a little extra pampering or deep cleaning.

Avocado, olive oil, and honey hair maskOur hair is exposed to a lot of harsh elements that can leave it feeling dry and brittle. However, this deep conditioning hair mask is the perfect way to replenish and restore hair. Avocado is well known for being a nourishing ingredient full of fatty acids, protein, and vitamins. This means that it’s able to strengthen and moisturize your strands. Similarly, olive oil and honey are added to lock in hydration, nourish the scalp, and add some much needed shine to dull hair.

Give your hair an extra boost of much needed TLC by mixing together 1 avocado, 2 tbsp honey, and 2 tbsp olive oil. Apply the mixture to damp hair (avoid the roots if your scalp is oily), fix your hair into a bun, and put on a shower cap. Let it rest for 15 minutes while applying heat by blow drying. Once you’re finished, rinse out the mask and wash your hair as usual.
